The terms applicable to Burgundy Paris orders: manufacturing, personalisation, payment, delivery, guarantees, traceability and dispute resolution.
The website burgundyparis.com is operated under the Burgundy Paris brand by:
In these General Terms and Conditions of Sale, the terms “Burgundy Paris”, “the Maison” and “we” refer interchangeably to Burgundy Paris, a brand operated by GST Group.
The term “the customer” refers to any natural or legal person placing an order with Burgundy Paris. Provisions specific to consumers apply where the customer qualifies as a consumer within the meaning of the applicable regulations.
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale govern the sale of products offered by Burgundy Paris on the burgundyparis.com website, as well as made-to-measure orders subject to a quotation.
They apply to any order placed on the website or directly with the Maison where that order is subject to a quotation or a specific ordering process.
The customer must read these Terms before finalising the order. They are accepted at the time of payment.
The applicable Terms are those accepted by the customer at the time of the order.
The French version of these Terms is the reference version. Any translation offered on the website is provided to help the customer understand them.
Products offered by Burgundy Paris are made to order.
Manufacturing begins once the order has been validated and payment confirmed, subject to any checks provided for in article 9.
The photographs and representations on the website show the models and their characteristics. Owing to the nature of the materials used and the way they are made, some details may vary slightly from one piece to another.
Natural variations in leather and, where offered, in exotic materials, in particular differences in grain, texture, shade, veining or natural markings, do not in themselves constitute a lack of conformity.
Some pieces or capsules may be produced in limited quantities or be one-of-a-kind pieces. Their availability is then indicated on the website.
Products offered on the website may come in different configurations defined by the Maison.
Depending on the model, the customer may in particular choose certain characteristics such as the colour of the hardware, or the inclusion of a chain, a shoulder strap or certain accessories.
The characteristics actually selected by the customer are summarised before payment and appear in the order confirmation.
Requests falling outside the configurations offered on the website may be handled as a made-to-measure order subject to a quotation.
The Maison determines the technical characteristics compatible with the model, the available materials and the manufacturing conditions.
Requests for personalisation or for creations outside the configurations offered on the website are subject to a prior quotation.
Before issuing the quotation, the Maison checks the feasibility of the request, the availability of the necessary materials and any regulatory, customs or destination-related constraints.
The quotation specifies in particular the chosen configuration, the price and the estimated manufacturing time.
Unless otherwise stated, the quotation is valid for seven calendar days from its date of issue.
After this period, the Maison may reassess the availability of materials, the price or the stated lead time.
Acceptance of the quotation by the customer constitutes validation of the commercial proposal. It does not by itself trigger manufacturing.
Payment is made according to the terms communicated by the Maison. The order is only definitively recorded once payment has been confirmed by the payment provider. Without this confirmation, no manufacturing is undertaken and no order is deemed concluded.
For orders placed on the website, the customer must have a customer account and provide the information needed to fulfil the order.
This account may also be created on the occasion of a prize draw organised on the website. It is then an ordinary account, subject to the same rules; entry into the draw is governed by its own rules.
The product characteristics, its price, the delivery destination and the other elements of the order are presented to the customer before payment.
These Terms are accepted on the payment page, before the payment methods are presented.
The order becomes final once payment has been confirmed by the payment provider, subject to the checks and provisions set out in these Terms.
A confirmation email summarising the essential elements of the order is sent to the customer.
Orders are reserved for persons aged at least 18 who have the legal capacity required to enter into a contract. By placing an order, the customer declares that they meet this condition.
Prices are shown in the currency offered for the destination selected on the website.
The price presented to the customer is the total amount due for the order under the conditions displayed at the time of ordering.
Delivery is free for destinations open to ordering.
For destinations for which Burgundy Paris handles import formalities, the applicable customs duties, taxes and import charges are included in the displayed price.
Available destinations and the associated pricing conditions may change depending, in particular, on applicable regulations, the nature of the products, the materials used, transport conditions and the import rules of the country concerned.
A destination that is not open to online ordering may be studied specifically as part of a made-to-measure order. The Maison may then draw up a quotation taking into account the transport, import and tax conditions applicable to the requested destination.
Orders are paid in full at the time of ordering.
Made-to-measure orders subject to a quotation are also paid in full after acceptance of the quotation.
No deposit is provided for: payment is made in full according to the terms communicated by the Maison.
The payment methods offered on the website may include Visa, Mastercard and American Express cards, as well as Apple Pay, Google Pay, Amazon Pay, PayPal, Revolut Pay, TWINT, Alipay, WeChat Pay, Kakao Pay, Naver Pay, PAYCO and Samsung Pay, subject to their availability at the time of ordering and their eligibility depending on the destination, the currency chosen and the amount of the transaction.
If payment fails, the order is not deemed concluded and no manufacturing is undertaken.
To protect customers and the Maison against fraudulent use of payment methods, Burgundy Paris may carry out additional checks before starting manufacture.
These checks may be triggered in particular by the total amount of the order, its composition, its destination, the payment method or the checks carried out by the payment provider.
The Maison may in particular ask the customer to confirm that they placed the order, or to provide the information strictly necessary to validate it.
These exchanges may take place by email, telephone, text message or, where this channel is used with the customer, through a messaging service such as WhatsApp.
Until these checks are completed, manufacturing may be suspended and the initially estimated shipping time may be adjusted accordingly. The customer is informed when such a check significantly changes the announced lead time.
Where a payment already confirmed is later disputed, cancelled, rejected or challenged by the holder of the payment method, their bank or the payment provider, the Maison may suspend performance of the order pending resolution of the situation.
The Maison may provide the payment provider or the institution concerned with the information needed to examine the dispute.
Burgundy Paris may refuse or cancel an order where its performance is impossible or presents a risk incompatible with the Maison’s terms of sale.
A refusal or cancellation may be justified in particular by:
Where possible, the Maison prefers to check these elements before payment, in particular for made-to-measure orders and materials subject to specific restrictions.
Where an order already paid for is cancelled by the Maison for a reason preventing its performance, the sums paid for the order are refunded in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
The manufacturing time is indicated on the product page or in the quotation.
The Maison makes its pieces according to its production capacity and the orders already recorded. The announced lead time may therefore change as orders come in.
When an order is placed, an estimated shipping window may be communicated to the customer, for example: “Estimated shipping between 12 and 18 November.”
This estimate takes into account the production workload known at the time of the order.
Where an order includes several pieces, shipping may be grouped so that the whole order is shipped once all the pieces are ready.
Where the ordering process provides for it, the Maison informs the customer by email when manufacturing begins.
A shipping confirmation is also sent to the customer with the available tracking information.
In the event of a significant delay compared with the announced lead time, the Maison informs the customer as soon as possible.
The customer’s rights in the event of late delivery are those provided for by the applicable regulations.
Burgundy Paris delivers to the destinations open to ordering on the website.
Carriers are selected according, in particular, to the destination country, transport conditions, the value of the order and insurance options.
Shipments are tracked, insured where the carrier’s conditions allow and, unless impossible because of the chosen service or the country concerned, delivered against signature.
A tracking number is sent to the customer when available.
The customer must check that their delivery address is correct before finalising the order.
In the event of an incorrect address, an unclaimed parcel or a failed delivery attributable to the customer, the Maison may arrange a new shipment under the conditions and charges applicable to that new shipment.
In the event of loss, damage or an anomaly during transport, the Maison may take the necessary steps with the carrier and the insurer.
For certain shipments, the Maison may temporarily place a tracking device in the parcel for the logistical monitoring of the shipment and to locate the parcel in the event of a delivery incident.
This device is used for the time needed for transport and, where applicable, to deal with an incident.
Once delivery has been confirmed, the device may be deactivated or dissociated from the Maison’s systems.
Where the device can be reused by the customer, they may be invited to keep it or return it to the Maison according to the terms communicated.
Burgundy Paris retains ownership of the product until its price has been paid in full.
For sales concluded with a consumer, the risk of loss of or damage to the product passes to the customer when they, or a third party designated by them other than the carrier offered by the Maison, take physical possession of the product.
Applicable mandatory legal provisions prevail over any contrary stipulation.
The configuration validated when ordering is the basis on which the piece is made.
Before manufacturing has actually begun, a request for a change or cancellation may exceptionally be considered by the Maison. Its acceptance is not automatic and depends in particular on how far the order has progressed and on the materials already committed.
Once manufacturing has begun, the configuration can no longer be changed as of right.
Where progress still allows it, in particular before certain final assembly operations, the Maison may nevertheless exceptionally accept a change request.
The customer must then contact the Maison as soon as possible.
Any change likely to involve an additional cost or lead time must be accepted by the customer before it is carried out.
These provisions do not limit the rights arising from the legal guarantees.
In accordance with article L. 221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code, the right of withdrawal does not apply to goods made to the consumer’s specifications or clearly personalised.
Burgundy Paris products are made from the configuration validated by the customer at the time of ordering. The options selected and, where applicable, the specific characteristics defined in a quotation constitute the specifications of the order where they individualise the item within the meaning of article L. 221-28, 3° of the French Consumer Code.
Consequently, where a product falls within this exception, the customer has no right of withdrawal once the order has been concluded.
This provision does not deprive the customer of the legal guarantees applicable in the event of a lack of conformity or a hidden defect.
Burgundy Paris is bound by the legal guarantees applicable to sales concluded with a consumer.
The customer benefits from the legal guarantee of conformity under the conditions set out in articles L. 217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code.
The seller is liable for any lack of conformity existing at the time the item is delivered and appearing within the legal period of two years from delivery.
Where the legal guarantee of conformity applies, the item is brought into conformity free of charge for the customer.
Bringing the item into conformity is carried out under the conditions and within the time limits provided for by law.
Repair or replacement may in particular require the piece to be returned to the Maison.
The customer also benefits from the legal guarantee against hidden defects provided for in articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code. This guarantee may be invoked within two years of discovering the defect.
These legal guarantees apply independently of any commercial offer of repair or after-sales service.
Any complaint about a piece must be sent to [email protected].
The customer is invited to describe the problem precisely and, where relevant, to attach photographs so that the Maison can carry out an initial assessment.
The Maison may ask for the piece to be returned for inspection.
No return should be made spontaneously when no return procedure has been agreed with the Maison.
Where the return is covered by Burgundy Paris under a legal guarantee, the Maison arranges or covers the necessary transport in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
Where the Maison covers the return under a legal guarantee, it arranges or reimburses the transport in accordance with the applicable legal provisions. A return arranged by the customer without the Maison’s prior agreement must not result in additional costs being imposed on them in breach of those provisions.
Returning a piece does not deprive the customer of their legal rights where these apply.
On receipt, the Maison examines the condition of the piece and determines the nature of the reported problem.
Where a defect covered by a legal guarantee is found, the Maison implements the remedy provided for by the applicable regulations.
Where no defect covered by a guarantee is found, the Maison may offer a paid repair or intervention under the conditions set out in article 19.
Certain normal changes linked to the use of a piece do not constitute a lack of conformity.
Normal wear may include in particular:
Damage resulting in particular from water, heat, chemicals, excessive friction, misuse, unsuitable care or an accident is not covered by the legal guarantee where it is the cause of the problem observed.
Any modification or intervention carried out by a third party may also affect the handling of a guarantee claim where that intervention is the cause of the problem observed or prevents the original condition of the piece from being established.
Where an intervention is not covered by a guarantee, Burgundy Paris may offer a repair on quotation.
Where possible, the quotation specifies the nature of the intervention, its cost and the estimated lead time.
The repair is only undertaken after the customer has accepted the quotation.
Some pieces offered by Burgundy Paris may use materials subject to specific rules, in particular certain skins or materials of animal origin.
For these materials, the Maison checks before ordering, where necessary, their availability, their traceability and the regulatory conditions applicable to the intended destination.
Each material concerned is kept in the Maison’s traceability system with the information and documents establishing its origin and its link to the piece made.
Where a material is subject to CITES regulations, the available official documents relating to that material are kept by the Maison.
For the pieces concerned, Burgundy Paris may provide the customer with:
The traceability certificate issued by Burgundy Paris is an internal traceability document relating to the material used. It is not a CITES permit, certificate or administrative document issued by a competent authority.
The available documents may be kept in the customer account or made accessible by digital means associated with the piece’s certificate.
The availability and nature of official documents depend in particular on the species concerned, its origin, the regulatory status of the material and the movement for which it is intended.
The customer must check the applicable rules when they wish to transport, export, import or transfer a piece containing a material subject to specific regulations, in particular when travelling with it to another country.
The Maison cannot be held liable for any delay or failure to perform resulting from an event reasonably beyond its control that prevents or delays the performance of its obligations.
Such events may include in particular, where they actually prevent performance of the contract: natural disaster, armed conflict, strike affecting the services needed to fulfil the order, major transport disruption, administrative decision or restriction, border closure, customs blockage, regulatory change, trade or health restriction, interruption of an essential service or exceptional failure of an indispensable service provider.
For international orders, the Maison may also be prevented from fulfilling an order where a regulation, sanction, customs restriction, import ban or impossibility of transport or insurance arises after the order.
The Maison informs the customer when these circumstances significantly affect the performance of the order.
The customer’s rights arising from mandatory legal provisions remain applicable.
The models, creations, photographs, texts, drawings, graphic elements, logos, presentation elements, visual identity and content of the Burgundy Paris website are protected by the applicable intellectual property provisions.
Except with the prior written authorisation of their owner, any reproduction, representation, adaptation, modification, distribution or exploitation of these elements, in whole or in part, is prohibited.
Ordering a product does not grant the customer any intellectual property right in the model, its design, its graphic elements or the visual identity of Burgundy Paris.
The personal data needed to create the account, manage orders, process payment, manufacture, deliver, provide after-sales service, prevent fraud and comply with legal obligations are processed in accordance with the Burgundy Paris Privacy Policy.
This policy specifies in particular the purposes of processing, the recipients of the data, the retention periods and the rights of the persons concerned.
The Maison may use the contact details provided by the customer for communications needed to fulfil or follow up their order, in particular by email, telephone, text message or, where this channel is used with the customer, by instant messaging.
These order-related communications are not marketing communications.
Any complaint should first be sent to Burgundy Paris at [email protected].
The Maison endeavours to find an amicable solution to any difficulty encountered in fulfilling the order.
After a prior complaint to the Maison and if the dispute has not been resolved, the consumer may refer the matter free of charge to the consumer mediator to which Burgundy Paris is attached, under the conditions provided for by the applicable regulations. Recourse to mediation does not deprive the consumer of the right to bring the matter before a competent court.
The mediator designated by Burgundy Paris is:
Referrals can be made online or by email, as indicated by CM2C.
These Terms are drafted in French and governed by French law.
Where the customer resides in another country, this clause does not deprive the consumer of the mandatory provisions applicable to them under the law of which they cannot legally be deprived.
In the event of a dispute that cannot be resolved amicably or through mediation, the competent courts are determined in accordance with the applicable rules of jurisdiction.
These Terms come into force on 1 October 2026 under reference v01102026.
They apply to orders placed from that date.
Burgundy Paris may amend these Terms to reflect changes in its business, its services or the applicable regulations.
The version applicable to an order is the one accepted by the customer at the time of that order.
